Install and use Hailian VPN on Android
The Android client supports Android 8 and later and is distributed as an APK through the official website. APK compatibility does not cover every Huawei or HarmonyOS system.
Download and install
- Open the download page in your phone's browser and download the Android APK.
- Open the completed file.
- If Android asks to allow installation from this source, review the browser and source, grant that browser the required permission and return to the installer.
- Read any security alert before proceeding. An unverified source notice is different from an alert identifying harmful software.
- After installation, open Hailian VPN.
Do not turn off Play Protect or routinely override malware alerts. See Google's Play Protect explanation and installation warning help. You can remove the browser's installation permission after setup.

Sign in and make the first connection
Sign in with your email and password, or register an account. Select a location and tap Connect. Android displays a system Connection request asking whether Hailian may establish a VPN. Review the app name and approve it if correct.
While connected, Android normally shows a VPN key icon and a persistent notification. These are system indicators, not an installation error.
Main controls
The main button connects or disconnects. The Locations screen selects a country. Intelligent routing and global routing determine which traffic uses the service. The Settings update entry obtains new Android packages.
Disconnects after the screen turns off
Some Xiaomi, Huawei, OPPO and vivo systems restrict background apps. Review Hailian's auto-start permission, background activity and battery policy. If your system supports locking an app card in recent tasks, that can help prevent manual cleanup from stopping it. Menu names vary by model and system release; see Chinese Android phone setup.
If pages fail despite a connected status, compare another location and routing mode, then follow connection troubleshooting. Uninstall through the app icon menu or Android's app settings when needed.
