What to do about installation risk or unknown-publisher warnings
An installation warning can mean the browser has little reputation information about a file, that the publisher cannot be verified, or that a security scanner has detected a specific threat. These are different situations. The fact that a file is called Hailian VPN does not establish its authenticity.
1. Check the download source
Start from the official download page, verify the domain and choose the package for your operating system. Avoid forwarded installers and unknown download mirrors. If the file is incomplete, delete it and download a fresh copy.
2. If the download is an archive
Extract it before opening the installer. Check that you obtained the expected Hailian package rather than an unrelated executable.
3. Windows SmartScreen or an unknown publisher
Read the exact alert, filename and publisher details. A reputation warning is not a guarantee that a package is safe or unsafe. Ask support to confirm the current installer if you cannot establish its source. Do not disable Windows protection globally just to install it.
4. Antivirus or browser malware detections
Keep the alert and detection name, and contact support or [email protected]. Do not routinely mark a detection as trusted or turn off scanning. Android users can also consult Google Play Protect; Mac users can read Apple's app safety guidance.
Include your operating system, the source link and the exact message when asking for help. Never send your password or verification code.
