Install and use Hailian VPN on Windows

Hailian VPN provides its own Windows client for Windows 10 and later.

Install

1. Download the Windows .exe installer from the official download page.
2. Open it and follow the installation wizard.
3. The first start or network setup may request administrator permission to create the virtual network interface. Review the publisher and file source before approving it.

For a security alert, see installation warnings. An unknown publisher alert and a malware detection require different checks.

Main controls

• Connect / Disconnect: the central button on the main screen.
• Locations: choose a country in the Locations screen.
• Routing mode: intelligent routing sends supported local traffic directly and other traffic through the service; global routing uses the VPN route more broadly. The location and wording of the control can vary by client version.
• Start at login: enable it in Settings if you want the client to start with Windows. Check the separate connection setting rather than assuming startup always means an active tunnel.
