Troubleshoot sudden VPN interruptions and intermittent connections
If pages suddenly stop loading and recover a minute later, compare the local network with the VPN route before reinstalling the app. A brief Wi-Fi interruption, mobile signal change or node problem can produce similar symptoms.
Check the local network first
At the moment of the interruption:
- Temporarily disconnect Hailian.
- Open an ordinary local website that normally works without the VPN.
- Compare the result.
If the local site also fails, investigate Wi-Fi or mobile data. If it works but the same connection through Hailian fails, inspect the selected route and client settings. The comparison narrows the problem; it is not a complete diagnosis on its own.
If the local network is unstable
Compare Wi-Fi with mobile data, move closer to the router, restart the router if appropriate, and repeat outside a congested period. Public hotel or shopping-center Wi-Fi can also have its own authentication or capacity limits.
After connectivity returns, check whether the client reconnected. If its state does not recover, disconnect and connect once manually.
If the problem follows the VPN route
Choose another country or city in Locations, or compare Auto select. If every location fails, use connection failure troubleshooting. Android users should also check whether the OS is stopping Hailian when the screen turns off.
If interruptions continue, tell support your system, client version, region, network provider and the time of the failure. If your client offers Send diagnostic information, review what it sends before sharing it. Do not send passwords or private keys.
