Windows 1.0.14: routing controls, tray use and account management

The Windows 1.0.14 release was announced on 26 July 2026. It described improvements to connection controls, settings and the account centre. These are historical notes; download the current supported Windows installer instead of seeking an archived 1.0.14 package.

Smart routing and global mode

The release placed the two connection modes in the client workflow. Smart routing is intended to keep suitable domestic or local traffic direct and send selected traffic through the VPN. Global mode uses the tunnel more broadly where the account and platform allow it.

Choose the mode according to the task. A split-routing mode intentionally leaves some traffic outside the tunnel, and a global connection can add latency to local services. Neither option overrides a destination's account or VPN policies.

Tray controls and desktop use

The system tray provides a convenient place to see or reopen the running client. Closing the main window and exiting the app can have different effects; use the visible connection state and exit control to confirm what the app is doing.

After a route switch, allow the connection to settle and test the same site again. Repeatedly toggling several settings at once makes it difficult to identify the cause of a failure.

Settings recovery and the account centre

The update described a settings reset option and a clearer account interface. A settings reset can help with an inconsistent local configuration, but it does not renew membership or change a third-party account. Note your current settings before resetting and use the app's supported control instead of deleting arbitrary Windows network files.

The account centre shows membership and related account functions. Current prices, benefits and eligibility are determined by the account display rather than this dated announcement.

Routes and updating

The announcement described route and connection refinements as well as update checking. Route availability changes over time, so consult the app's current list and test from your usual ISP.

Get updates from the official downloads page or the client's supported update flow. Review the publisher and the specific Windows warning. An unknown-app reputation message is different from a malware detection; do not assume that every warning can safely be dismissed.

First connection after installation

  1. Install the official client and open it.
  2. Sign in to your own account and confirm membership.
  3. Allow the required official networking component when Windows requests it.
  4. Close conflicting VPN or proxy tools during the test.
  5. Connect to an available route and open a trusted HTTPS site.

See the Windows guide for installation and connected but no internet for a layered diagnosis. Support can work with your Windows version, client version, approximate error time and message. Hide account identifiers and private content.
