Amsterdam route announcement: another European connection option

On 13 July 2026, Hailian VPN announced a Netherlands route in Amsterdam. The original post described European connectivity and another choice for browsing and work. Its historical performance claims are not a substitute for current measurements from your network.

Amsterdam's role in connectivity

Amsterdam is a well-known interconnection location, and AMS-IX operates an internet exchange there. This describes the city's infrastructure. It does not establish a VPN node's direct exchange membership, transit contract or the latency you will receive.

A Netherlands exit can be useful when a task needs a European location or when another route is congested. The best choice depends on the complete path between your device, the VPN server and the destination.

What a node announcement can tell you

It records that a location was introduced and describes its intended role at that time. It cannot promise that the same server, route or capacity remains unchanged. Network paths and filtering can change, and a shared server's conditions can vary during the day.

Use the current node list to confirm availability. For speed, test the same task on Amsterdam and one other available route under comparable conditions. Avoid reading a headline latency figure as a guarantee for every website or ISP.

Regional services have their own rules

An exit address changes one part of the connection path. It does not automatically change your subscription country, payment method, account history or the location signals a platform uses. Some services reject VPN addresses or require additional verification.

Follow those services' terms. If general browsing works but one platform fails, investigate its policy and account requirements separately.

Connecting with Hailian

Install the latest supported client from Downloads, sign in and select the Netherlands location if it appears on your plan. Choose smart routing or global mode according to your task, then connect and check a trusted HTTPS website.

Smart routing can leave selected local traffic direct. Global mode sends traffic through the tunnel more broadly where supported, which can increase latency for nearby services. Neither mode guarantees that every destination accepts the exit.

If performance is disappointing

Check the underlying connection with the VPN disconnected, compare another route, stop large background downloads and repeat the same task at a similar time. A temporary busy period is different from a consistently unusable path.

The slow-speed guide explains these checks. If you contact support, include the app version, device, network type and approximate failure time, with personal details hidden.
